Hello Lovely Readers,

One of my favourite things as a little girl was playing dress up! I love and still adore rummaging in other peoples wardrobes and jewellery boxes! so when I was asked to style for a lovely young miss named Jillian who owns 'Cotton Fields Vintage' most recent photo shoot for there newely launched and very pretty website. I squealed like a very small excited child.

Jillian is not just another 'vintage' shop owner she carefully researches future fashion trends so her clothes reflect what is in style, are carefully sourced, one off and at prices a fashionista can afford. Ranging from the glorious 1950s to the dizzying 1980s your sure to find a something different.

Her site gives regular blog updates, fashion forecasts and fashion tips how best to wear your newely aquired gladrags.

When most blogs are a "picture a day" or "what I wore" blog. I find it increasingly hard to compete.

I have a fabulous wardrobe, I am often invited to style for photos shoots but yet cannot have

the confidence to take a full length picture for my blog. Are these hangups from looking are the ever airbrushed and tiny models featured in the adverts of my favourite brands?

Are they from magazines which document celebrities berating them for putting on a couple of

pounds and congratulating when they emerge emancipated more bones the better?

Kate Moss once mentioned "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels". How about nothing feels as good as self empowerment and embracing your natural body shape no matter if you are naturally petite or full of curves. Maybe such a high and respected just a 5'6 model should be citing more postive views on her attentive & impressionable fans, especially being a mother of a young daughter herself.

One day I will set up my tripod and begin to take photos and not screw my face up in disgust when I view them.

Fashion will always have a place for the blessed tiny ladies amoung us but that doesnt mean I can't still be a part of it.

Hello Beautiful Readers, here is my most recent photoshoot I got to go crazy using all the clothes of designer Miranda Williamson, her designs are an influsion of blood reds, liquorice blacks with the odd guest appearence of a pastel! The model was a young art student called Jade who was simply a darling to work with and didnt mind the tons of outfit changes and madly high heels we made her wear.

Makeup was done by the lovely Dale who worked on mood board photos of Tim Burton and Vivianne Westwood inspired photographs.

Bonjour Readers, After a long hiatus I have returned to updating my little blog with a pretty new look. I have been working like a busy bee to secure lots of styling jobs, gain more photography experience to create as many pretty uploads for this blog as I can squeeze in. Many of you will be attending festivals over the summer so I'll show you some styling tips with my goodies that you can also be rocking

Whether sweating it out jumping up and down at a festival or on a picnic in the park butterfly/flower hair bands give you a beautiful laid back 'fairy' look, you can buy them slightly pricier at topshop although i've seen primark do versions nearly as good. I used these in a photoshoot recently and they looked amazing (will upload photos very soon). For makeup I have sworn by for years, Estee Laudee do a sweet selection of blusher and lipgloss that doesn't budge in pretty sorbet colours. Barry M Lipstick do amazing Cosmopolitan pink shades sure to make your lips stand out in a crowd.

For the laidback lazy girls out there who love to look like they have made an effort with there hair.. taadaa....

These are from the label love at New Look, if like me you love the 1940/1950s landgirl look but are awful at tying bows these have little wires to give you a 3d bunny ear bow, I've embellished mine with a little brooch the pin up girl resembles an early Marilyn Monroe Photograph

Happy Valentines my sweethearts. I've abandoned hernameiscupcake again for a few

long months but I'm back with lots of exciting photoshoots and ideas! Our beautiful model maddie nearly made a young gentleman fall of the pavement in his haste to have another look at her.

50's glamour is always a winner.

These pictures of the darling maddie are being used for our university magazine based on the idea of 'elle'
we renamed ours as 'LUXE' a swirly mixture of girly and neon fashion. I'll post all of the photoshoots I have done so far but this one seemed most appropriate since its nearly the 14th.

Queen Of Heart Tarts
Cooking Time

15 minutes
Makes 24
Ingredients

300g (2 cups) plain flour

100g (1 cup) hazelnut meal

80g (1/2 cup) icing sugar mixture

175g butter, chilled, cubed

80ml (1/3 cup) iced water

240g (2 punnets) raspberries

1 egg white, lightly whisked

2 tsp caster sugar

How To Make Your Heart Tarts

Preheat oven to 180°C. Place flour, hazelnut meal, icing sugar mixture and butter in the bowl of a food processor and process until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add iced water and process briefly until mixture just comes together. Add more water if required.
Turn pastry onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly until smooth. Shape into a disc and place in the fridge for 30 minutes to rest.
Divide pastry into 4 equal portions. Use a lightly floured rolling pin to roll 1 portion until about 3mm thick. Use a 7cm-diameter pastry cutter to cut 12 discs from the pastry. Line 12 non-stick patty pans with the discs. Repeat with second pastry portion to line 12 more patty pans. Divide raspberries evenly among pastry cases.

Roll third pastry portion until about 3mm thick. Use a 6.5cm-diameter pastry cutter to cut 12 discs. Use a 2.5cm heart-shaped pastry cutter to cut a hole in the centre of each disc. Repeat with remaining pastry portion to make 12 more discs. Place a disc on each pie and press edges to seal. Brush tops with a little whisked egg white. Place sugar in a fine sieve and sprinkle over tarts.

Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and set aside to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

as you may know I would quite happily run around in 50's prom dresses and carry a parasol under my

arm. while its wintertime I am quite happy to snuggle up with a fur coat (faux of course darlings) lacey

gloves and some sort of hat/head apparel. I jumped a bus with my beautiful boy to the capital and had

a dreamy lust around the vintage shops playing dressup and a little daunder in the fairground. is there anything better than the scent of hot waffles toasting and candyfloss being spun?

Hello beautiful readers! Firstly happy birthday to my dear little pixie friend Miranda happy 20th birthday I hope it is filled with sparkles and lots of clothes. Secondly apologies for the well overdue update, internet connections in my halls of residence can't even be picked up by my laptop and I've been unable to write/type due to nerve damage in my fingers/hands.

Studying fashion at university is much watching a mini fashion show, on lecture days I love seeings what everyone is wearing as they enter the lecture hall. Being a small town girl where fashion or self expression isn't particulary big its nice to find a place full of like minded people who are clearly 'individuals' some of them have amazing style! I'm also lucky to have flatmates who are such a sweet bunch of girls and speak to some lovely people in & around campus.

As always for you who have followed this blog for a while know my love for pretty trinkets

there earrings are from acessorize they do the sweetest earrings. the first set are rather teaparty/alice in wonderlandish no sets are the same so I can mix and match them!

Just now I love preppy fashions, theres alot of focus on cute socks and tights, cosy knits, crisp shirts, 'granny' colour palettes and a little bit of tartan.

Here is a lovely little shirt and skirt I bought from H&M, worn with black socks layered over tights and brogues. My favourite bit of the shirt is the little black bow adorable. I might team this with skinnies jeans for a more casual look.

these are a few pieces I picked up shopping in edinburgh

the lacey top is a staple item and goes with anything I have it under jumps suits/play suits.

the socks are again H&M I tried them on with brogues but think they may look better under biker boots for a girly twist. the cardigan was tkmaxx (the half hour of browsing through crap pays off) I love the lacy back.

I done these candy/wonderland inspired photos sometime ago but never really got round to editing them, my little model miranda was decked out in my jewellery i'm really mean with sharing my tarina tarantino stuff. The skull cameo from topshop fell off in her hand on the way home it was a sad moment. it now sits in my jewellery box awaiting to be fixed some day.. rest in pieces :(

I will post some pictures of my new room once I've deuglyfied it. I love unusual trinkets... it looks like a cigar box when infact...

TAA DAA... its bursting with trinkets such as perfumes, bows, tickets, lovenotes,ribbons

It was my lovely friend steph's birthday, Like me she's addicted to shopping, fashion and drawn to the elegance of 50's movie stars. So she demanded a homemade card for her birthday I spent hours ripping up magazines and cutting up polaroids...add a bow and VOILA! I also mixed her up a cd with the cheesy rubbish she loves (wham!wake me up before you go go! - her favourite, she once sang it to a date, I dont think he was impressed teehee) along with breezy tones of passion pit and bombay bicycle club. Heres the card I made her: I hate my handwriting here!

There Are Fairys In My Garden...

hello beautiful boys and girls!
today I went on a date with a very special boy! i went a bit ott with topshop items and raided my mothers jewellery box for a vintage cameo brooch. our date was to see 'toystory 3' I am a huge disney fan although I am more into the older 'disney princess' type films I love the craftsmanship and knowing every detail is done purely by hand not machine. Heres hoping he will be my prince charming!

anyway since I am such a hopeless romantic I have made a 'little book of america' for ''himself'' as he loves america as much as I love hellokitty.

I plan to do every major city until I get bored... (this little project will probably never be completed!)

apart from spending time with himself I went to see BLINK 182! they opened in scotland! oh yes. and I screamed like a little groupie!

fashion tip. do not wear oversized tshirts to gigs, you come home feeling like you got in a shower no matter how gig chic you looked before.

Yes Blink were amazing memories of too much eyeliner and first converse. Scottish support band Twin Atlantic were the one of the best alternate bands I have seen in ages!

and thankyou to jaqueline for purchasing me a beautifully tacky pink wristband I will treasure it forever.

this week I plan to do a really pretty photoshoot and post it up! weather permitting.

these are some photos showing things that were for a textile/jewellery unit I did at college, mines was based on my

love of mixed tapes & stencil art. I made a scarf, tshirt with stencil motifs using a printing screen & customized a 'tape' necklace with pink spray paint & diamontes.

Stencil making is easy and is one of my most favourite techniques, I've used it on clothing, scrapbooks, home made cards,

heres how to make your own stencils:

firstly, choose an image.. there is plenty of premades of the internet these are good to practice with before you can go onto creating your own personal & unique stencils, I love marilyn monroe so I've used this one from: www.spraypaintstencils.com

now what you are going to is carefully cut with a sharp stanley knife. and lay down the pieces

down to paper/material.

voila! once you remove those bits of paper you will have a beautiful marilyn stencil!

If you are wanting to make use stencils on clothing you would be much better to invest in a printing screen it gives a much smoother effect (remember use a fabric dye)

I love when you are tidying your room and you discover 'lost' items, such as my scrap book which had these gorgeous postcards in them, the series are 'clarity, care & protect' I think I may have snaffled them from a cinema or clothes shop I think they were actually flyers advertising some sort of sunglasses. I had to upload them!

Finally found! my charm bracelet down the side of my bed.I've been collecting charms since I was fifteen, this bracelet is pretty much complete but I've lost a dice, mermaid & lovebirds to date need to buy some new ones!

The charms currently on my bracelet are, balletshoes, ballerina, safety pin, kitten, teddybear, handbag, highheels, a rose and a claddagh heart.

I've noticed there is a trend again for charm bracelets with brands such as pandora, truth etc, although I have a beautiful truth bracelet myself & adore it I think the old fashion charm bracelets tell storys and are much more personal.

Photography is like a butterfly, you have spilt sections to capture the image before its gone. If you can still remember the time in your life when you thought fairys still lived at the bottoms of your garden you might feel the some waves of nostalgia looking at Kat McDonalds photographs. For those of you who are avid readers of magazines such as ID or Nylon she might strike a particular chord, there is an alluring mix of innocence, beauty and indeed provocative imagery, the best kind of triple threat. The beautiful photographer was lovely enough to agree to do an interview for my blog:

How long have you been interested in photography?
I have been interested in photography for as long as i can remember. both my brothers are photographers so i grew up with cameras and camera equipment furnishing our home. it was lovely. it truly became a passion when in my early-mid teens - when i was of an age where my brothers trusted me with their expensive equipment until i could afford to buy my own. i bought my first SLR - a Canon EOS600 - and have been capturing images ever since then.

What equipment do you use?

In the advent of digital photography, i made the switch to digital a few years back however i still like to use film. i have a fondness for Canon and have two Canon EOS SLRs (one being digital) and an assortment of lenses. for portraiture i prefer really fast Canon lenses F1.2. I also use Pentax (film) SLR, Nikon D300 (DSLR) and often an old Rolleiflex TLR. i have recently began collecting vintage cameras. i use Manfrotto tripods - they are incredibly stable and relatively inexpensive, given the quality. i prefer location photography - as with the right model, props, light and treatment - the results more often or not exceed expectations.
The digital darkroom is most efficient. i use Adobe CS4/5 for any editing - however - i merely use Photoshop for RAW conversion, minor editing, retouching (which i try to keep to a minimum to avoid creating images that make the subject look 'plastic'). For batch editing, i often use Lightroom. but, i do miss the smell of bromide - you can't beat the real thing.

Do you handpick models to take photos off?(If so what do you look for in a person)
I have been fortunate to have worked with some amazing men and women to make emotive and stylish images. for specific projects, that i set myself to keep my portfolio dynamic and 'alive', i handpick my models. it's not always about having 'classic' beauty. most of the models i have worked with have a true individuality and they exude a certain something. a something that i specifically seek for that given project.

Is there any photographers that inspire you or do you gain your inspiration from elsewhere?

There are many famous photographers who have inspired me - from Helmut Newton, Annie Liebowitz, Anton Corbjin, David Bailey and Bob Carlos Clarke. but i also take inspiration from other photographers who are lesser known to the average person. photographers who i have met in various on-line art communities. i am also inspired by music, travel and cinematography - like Polanksi, Vadim, Fellini, Bernardo Bertolucci to name but a few. vintage iconic arthouse cinema and art, like Warhol/Factory NYC in the '60s/70s, has been a huge inspiration to me.

What is to date, your favourite photo you have taken?

Now that is something i find very difficult to answer. it is comparative to asking a mother which of her children she prefers... hahaha....! each image has been carefully composed and created and contains a little bit of myself in each of them so it is very very difficult to choose. i take images in my style, primarily for myself, but if they move people then that makes me very happy. if my (paying) clients and collaborators are happy, then that makes me smile.

little miss dainty doll gets a new tattoo....

I didnt really! Has anyone seen these little cuties from topshop?

Makes me think of being a little girl craving for the bubblegum with the free tattoo in the wrapper. I was never allowed bubble gum, I had hair to my bum and would have probably ended up entangled in my locks. I had one on my wrist and ankle to wind my mum up, she really did nearly hit the roof. I do actually have two tattoos, I have a pink bow with a little heart on the back of my neck & a musical stave with 'Pain is Beauty' written in pretty writing on my leg.

Today I went shopping with my beautiful little mummy to be Carlie. Auntie Rosie in less than one month! I picked up this amazing little bunny day dress in TKMAXX for £11! it is toothachingly cute!

My next blog post is going to be featuring the lovely Kat McDonald, she is a local photographer and I fawn over all her photos, Its like a local ID magazine spread everytime she uploads her facebook I am like ooooooh pretty. Can't wait! I notice my list of followers is growing and I've recieved lots of lovely blog comments, thankyou to the people who comment frequently the support is very much appreciated!

Hello beautiful girls and boys.

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather. today I opted to go for a new look and got my hair dyed cherry red. I dont look estatic in the photo I have broken my tripod so I asked my lovely dad to however he began dancing about like a fool asking me to 'smiiiiillllle' The little playsuit is from primark and was only £13 and is a certain to be a sellout its sooo cute and the gold heart shaped buttons are adorable. Welldone primark I love when you give me fashion suprises.

Heres some of the treats I bought from sallys to keep my strawberry locks in pretty condition, does anyone else know good tips for colour treated hair? the dry hairspray is because my hairdresser advised me to wash my hair twice a week (i usually end up washing it twice a day!!!)

And heres some other things I have bought over the past few weeks but not had an special enought occasion to wear them too, the spotty dress however was a present from my lovely friend siobhan, its top shop and theres apparently one available in blue. The little loveheart dress is from a boutique called swish, its in edinburgh slighty expensive but they do such cute retro clothing I know im going to wear time and time again so I guess its a pretty investment? dress them up with heels for going out or brogues for ... going shopping some more?

I've got a post I forgot to upload so I will get that done tommorow, also comment back everyone who has left comments, I'm a bit bubbleheaded so please don't be offended if I don't reply or thank you straight away.

Summer is here! I spent yesterday sitting in the garden with my beautiful friend siobhan with strawberry, daisies chains and alot of malibu!

heres my must do list for the summer:

These are my lovely new converse i recieved as a birthday present I haven't wore converse fore past 4 years, I forgot how amazingly comfortable they are and versatile they look great with lacey leggings or a prim little dress. The ballet shoe pink colour will always be my favourite and if I do end up going to any festival this year they will be my shoe of choice!

here below is some 'punk stud' bracelets I got out of Next honestly Im addicted to them remind me of being eighteen with no worries and alot of bruises from trying to skateboard. layered up with a little daisy chain!

I'm going to start posting awards on blogs that I have had favourited for quite some time so hopefully it will cheer up someones day! I will list on my site the sites that have been awarded. Hope everyone is having a beautiful summer so far.. remember apply sunfactor!

"take one thing off before you leave the house". does that oversized bow really look good with chunky earings? does that cocktail ring take the attention of your dainty heart shaped necklace? Ladies accessorys is like makeup. less is more anything else is like a walking talking jewellery box or you end up looking like a magnet. When wearing a 'WOW' piece anything else should be smaller in size as not to detract attention from it. If this seems to conformist mix different textured bracelets on one arm, you can even buy 'bulk' necklaces now that come prelayered and look amazing with corset/sweetheart cuts or seamless vest/or tshirts. Its always fun to mix textures up, experimenting with shapes and colour. but golden rule. just remove that one little thing before you walk out the door your outfit will appear more put together and effortless... after all who wants to look like they have tried?

Cupcake Ingredients:

8 Tbsp (1 stick, 4 ounces) unsalted butter

1/2 cup cocoa
2 ounces chocolate, chopped

3/4 cup flour

3/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

2 large eggs

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons mint extract

1/2 cup sour cream

1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare a muffin tin by lining it with cupcake liners.
Use a double boiler or add an inch or two of water to a medium sized saucepan and place a metal bowl over it, bringing the water to a simmer. Add butter (cut into chunks), chocolate, cocoa to the bowl.
As the butter and chocolate melt, whisk until the ingredients are well combined and smooth.
Remove from heat and let cool to touch.

2 In a small bowl, sift together the flour,
baking soda, and baking powder.

3 In a large bowl (can use a mixer),
beat the eggs. Add the salt, the sugar,the mint extract and
beat until well combined. Slowly add in the chocolate butter mixture and beat until combined.

4 Add in half of the sifted flour mixture, mix to combine. Mix in the sour cream. Mix in the remaining flour mixture.

5 Spoon the batter evenly into the lined muffin cups.
Place in oven in middle rack. Bake for 18-20 minutes,
until tops spring back when touched and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6 Let cool in muffin tin on a rack for 15 minutes.
Then gently remove cupcakes from the tin and let cool completely before icing

Makes 12 cupcakes.

For the icing part:

1 In an electric mixer, beat the butter (if making buttercream)at medium speed until creamy.
Beat in milk (if making buttercream) and mint extract.

2 Slowly add in the powdered sugar on low speed,
stopping every now and then to scrape down the sides of the bowl,
until light and fluffy. Taste and add more mint extract if it isn't minty enough for you,
or powdered sugar if it isn't sweet enough for you.

I'll let you know a secret.Theres a person I miss everyday so I have been running arond like a mad hatter trying to find a perfect outfit for my end of term fashion show just so they notice me.

If you have thought I've vanished I've just had a really busy few weeks, My sister just got married (will post photos as soon as I get them) had a beautiful day and I felt every bit like audrey hepburn, and she was every bit the 50s fairytale princess.

I've been really stressing and trying to get my outfits ready for my end of year fashion show, recruiting models for our catwalk show and recently started an apprenticeship with a photography company! Looking forward to giving you some really pretty posts very soon!

Isn't she pretty? no she's not some unknown 50s hopeful movie star shes actually my gran.
Going through some of the new collections from topshop I couldn't help think of this photo is so simaliar to some of the clothes I have seen her wear in my dads photo album as a young girl.
The 1950s style is easy to copy and both versatile it suits all shapes, And can be dressed up or down to be suited with casual day shopping or at an after catwalk party. Its a quirky but sexy trend that never seems to go out of style and is defiantly one of my favourite I adore playsuits,rollers in my hair and bright red marilyn lips. Below is another photo of her arm and arm with my grandad how cute, Judging from the backround of the photo the are walking along the Blackpool promanade.

                 People should be free to embrace themselves. Through their own personal style or their own body shape.

My blogs are usually quite light hearted but this once is about something that needs to be addressed since it affects followers of fashion so much in particular. We often hear of tiny models being declined jobs on the run way and maybe think nothing of it, But what about when it hits home. One of my best friends (who is a beautiful girl with a beautiful figure) showed me a deeply worrying site on the internet that not only actively encourages girls to lose weight but to post picture updates of their actual weight loss onto the site each every few weeks to show their progress. I was stunned looking at the site which also showed a gallery called ‘Thinspiration’ with a collection of skeletal girls to look up to as some sort of idols. Ironically there was also a link which you could ‘donate’ to keep the site running like some sort of sick charity. My friends all have lovely figures, personality are smart young woman; these sites should be banned from targeting people such as our friends and family who perhaps are lacking body confidence. We are under constant influence throughout our lives by media dictating the perfect image when most of the advertising and music videos thrown at us are airbrushed to perfection. It’s all too easy to fall into the trap of losing a little weight, then a little more then it growing into an obsession which causes abundance of pain, health issues and in the worst scenarios death.

So let’s just be happy with who we are, shun these ridiculous sites, and if we are unhappy with our body shape a healthy eating programme and regular exercise with the support of our loved ones, not starving ourselves on mad fad diets.

           YOU’RE PROBABLY MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN YOU ALREADY THINK YOU ARE.

D.I.Y for girls.

If you've read this months ID magazine. punk is in. studs&spikes are the new sequins.heres a little tutorial that is easy to do, I've even photographed the steps so you cant go wrong. this works well on updating items such as denims/checked shirts for summer or even your converse

I'm using the same process for a coat I'm doing for a fashionshow.

you will need:

iron on interfacing: helps make your fabric not flimsy so ur studs/spikes stay sitting up
selection of spikes/studs your choice i recommend http://www.studsandpunks.co.uk/
an awl.

If you material is quite soft or your planning on making a patch cut the interfacing, turn your clothing inside out and simply iron onto the back off it. Iron does need to be at the top temprature, do not touch straight away!

Next all you need to do it make a hole in the fabric with the awl. usually you may have to stretch it out a little bit for the screw to fit through the material. Next just fix top of the spike onto the screw and voila. Your punk.

The front page of the Daily Mail today reported of Victoria Beckams new fashion collection wowing even the harshest critics. Sorry miss Beckam it takes more than a team of designers working under your name and a good bit of PR work to convince me your a Designer or actually had some creative output on a label that is in your name. Its laughable. This comes from the woman labelled as a wag with her fake boobs, fake extensions etc who is now being coaxed into wearing flat shoes and removing her implants in a desperate bid to fit in with the fashion world, Audrey Hepburn did the black shift dress, Chanel and ballet shoes & sunglasses in the 50s darling your nothing new. Victoria puts people like me trying to achieve fashion degrees to shame, I'm saving every penny to put myself through university just like many other young designers in the making working our asses off to create collections (OURSELVES) the whole design, pattern and working process will one day be competing in the market against someone who probably couldnt switch a sewing machine on incase she breaks a nail.

I've shamefully abandoned my blog for a short while, I've had alot of time catching up with college work and spending alot of time with my friends and family who have been so wonderful these past few months where I've lost alot of confidence and had a bit of heartbreak. During the easter holidays my parents booked me into the Albany Boutique Hotel in edinburgh which was just beautiful. The little room I had was a Tim Burton princesses dream.It was all damask, black or birdcage themed wall paper, the lights are dimmed so the hotel is constantly dark and the bedding has a lovely velvet feel!LUXURY I was also informed on my stay the hotel was once a back street doctors and had alot of ghostly goings on. Needless to say I slept with the light on.

here are some photos I took, I used my mums camera so excuse the quality.

I done the bus tour with my parents and was desperate to see the underground vaults at mary queens close but felt ill and had to go back to my little 'goth princess' room. Later with a carton of apple juice in hand I had a trip to Harvey Nichols they have a revolving pudding restraunt its so cute!I was slightly unwilling to leave a baby pink Vivianne Westwood cardigan behind (sigh).
I bought a lovely outfit from topshop that I'll post in my next blog.

Lookbook is a site most fashionistas despair to be part off.

with its cliquey 'invite only' to gain access to the site or the waiting list where you have to be approved,is it really up to some adminstrator to decide whose style of an acceptable enough standard like bouncers in exclusive clubs deciphering between letting someone in because of there lack of dress code fearing the elite might not want to mingle with the not so Channeled out partygoers? However on the flipside this rule prevents the site from being cluttered up with myspace pouting teenagers whose fashion fix is the next edition of look. Most of the photography wouldnt look out of place in a fashion magazine like americas Nylon along with some impeccable styling. The only thing that troubles me about Lookbook is the amount of scarily skinny girls, a thing fashion should stop trying to promote on its catwalks and push in its advertising campaigns (thank god for gok). I know some people this is in there genetics and live a healthy lifestyle but there is some painfully thin girls on that site. Apart from everyone listing themselves as fashion designers, photographers etc Lookbook is a great resource site for picking up fashion tips and eyeing up pretty clothes I couldnt afford if i wanted to.... LookBook's ''LookBook" can be found for free in any american apparel store featuring 77 of its best dressed ..

Lady Gaga goes Gaga for mac

the MAC Viva Glam Launch held at Ill Bottaccio, London this month she is teaming up with another style legend Cyndi Lauper. The collection is being released to support awareness about social issues with woman & HIV/Aids awareness. I predict a bigger sales in the Gaga lipstick.

I bought an amazing Lady Gaga tshirt from Swish in edinburgh and the cutest playsuit will post photos as soon as. Went to see Alice In Wonderland in 3D stunning visually. As for the costumes, beautiful in one word. Everytime Alice shrinks or grows her dress changes to a even cuter couture piece. I'm in love with the White Queen think I may end up dying my hair white. The Mad Hatters scarf I want it! Liquorice Assort pattern would look gorgeous on a 50s style prom dress with a bright red petticoat underneath .Depp himself was one of my favourites in the film he is even charming made up with orange eyebrows. The film itself isn't the same story as the original disney version more an Alice Returns To Wonderland would have been a better description.But none the less grab your 3D specs ( i took mine home hoping everything would work in 3D) for a treat for the eyes.

nearly spring and for pretty things!

i like the romantic pretty peach trend just now its perfect to team up with lace, pearls and pretty trinkets. Everywhere seems to being doing the whole 'paris' trend as well. I also purchased a pair of ballet shoes from topshop i feel like a little ballerina all over again. these tops are both from riverisland a shop iv shunned due to overpricing for simple highstreet pieces but i gave into the soft long tshirt perfect for hot days in the sewing studio and this little tunic. its much prettier close up.

here is some of my class work as I realise I have actually never posted any on my blog before the first two are from my first year portfolio I turned Burlesque into Marie Antoniette, Colour Pop into Dolly Mixture because the theme names picked were a bit bland for me.

the one beneath is a final outcome for my Nostalgia dress (Alice in Wonderland) and the polaroid shows my finished dress. yes there is alot of overuse of pink.

here is one of the units im working on at the minute its a work in progress its to design a skirt for a subculture mines was 'sista' you can define it more as street,ghetto apparel those stars are from stencils i have made i use coloured hair spray instead of spray paint so it doesnt soak through the pages.

the dresses are like candy. i found a betsey johnstone outlet during my visit to florida. but the gorgeous little dresses price tags would have been blowing my whole spending allowance for the entire holiday in one go.

i had to make do with going to maceys and having to treat myself to a little pair of bow earrings & a ring by the designer.

today as i posted earlier. I had my university interview I was a little bit wowed by the college its so huge! i must say. the sex pistols are over-rated.
they were... terrible to say the least.
i am writing a essay on a theme of ''Chaos'' one of the themes for our fashion show it derives its inspiration from the punk movement.
I love the involvement of westwood & mclaren who cleverly dressed the pistols in there d.i.y outfits at there first gigs the punk look spread like wild fire.
i dont condone the violence and drugs associated with them but i do love the punk ideals. shunning the expected and embracing the brillance of rebellion we once all felt as teenagers wearing a ludacriously short outfit or just shunning the trend.

I have a slight fascination with polaroids. You click and it appears immediatly out your camera. Sure you have to play around & shake it before it reveals the photo but thats the best bit. With digital cameras if you dont like the pose you just click delete. A polaroid is a little bit of time caught forever. only problems is im a bit disgruntled at paying £22 for 10 polaroid sheets.

the only 'celeb' i would draw fashion inspiration from even picking 'katyish' clothes for my florida holiday with greg last august such as the Rare playsuit that everyone seemed to comment on. it will be worn again this summer after alot of working out at the gym as the middle button burst to my great horror in one of the theme parks.

this was the playsuit that caused the trouble!

one of my favourite films is ''factory girl'' i feel both pity & contempt for edie sedwick, who had a priviledged life, was warhols muse. her self destructive nature and naive nature led to her young death much like marilyn monroe. there is a lack of good websites about edies real life as i know most of the film is fictional if anyone knows any good ones feel free to post.

as you may or may not know. if you know me in person you'll know something i buy nearly everytimethat i am out is a tshirt. i have TOO MANY tshirts. even when they are washed out & stretched i cannot bear to part with any of them haha. I love this tshirt from Illustrated people its so very andy warhol.

TOPSHOP has been sells this brand in some of there bigger stores. I have already bought a cardigan & jumper from them so far. I've not seen any of the tshirts yet in store but you can buy them from the designers own website heres a link to the site.

What Would Marilyn Do?

most people who study fashion have a favourite designer the way i work is derieving my inspiration from a person. her name is Norma Jean Baker. but you probably know her as Marilyn Monroe. most of my blogs so far are about what i bought or things i have seen and liked. this is slightly more personal. i see alot of simalarity with marilyn its about putting on your best face to look beautiful but still hiding feelings of unworthyness under the pretty clothes and jewellery. in my course this year i have struggled to find who I am both as a designer and person with bouts of low self esteem as much as i love fashion there is greater talents than me out there, its a fiercely competitive business with little or no chance for sucess just like the acting business.

Marilyn herself came from a very unglamourous backround but took every chance she could to better and suceed in life i find that so inspiring, however unlike Marilyn I hope i grow enough to be content with who I am & with whatever career in life i end up taking.

here are some of the lovely treats i recieved on christmas day.

irregular choice shoe + matching maybe my favourite since i am a huge face of I.C they are the sooo cute cant wait till summer to find a pretty dress to go with them.

the cardigan & dress were from my secret santa we do this because my family is huge! i have 4 sisters. 3 nieces & a nephew plus all my brother in laws!

this is my main present from my mummy & daddy. so excited to start using it!

probably the best thing about christmas was spending time with the people I love the most

what christmas is all about really being thankful for what you have and not the designer gifts and expensive things you dont. here is me with my nephew & one of my beautiful nieces

its snowed like for four days straight now its lovely i dont remember having a white christmas since i was little girl. these are both new look and my luck will be in the january sales so i wont bother putting prices.

You can definatly tell how much I love doing fashion with these little buys, a pincushion necklace & measuring tape shoes!

Just been shopping in edinburgh. how much do I ADORE cockburn street. they must have the best shops in scotland!!!
this was a present. i like homemade mad kitch jewellery its from Pie In the Sky.

although i was meant to be christmas shopping for others i did end up treating myself to a pair of shoes i havent spent money on myself for months now im moving out my flat I wont be broke every month! and as you can see they arent just any shoes they are my fav shoe brand irregular choice i picked these up in schuh for £59.99. a bit over my usual budget but they are showstoppers.

on my list i still had to buy for was my parents, greg, my friends alison & shiobhan and for one of my nieces. I only managed to buy half of alisons and a teaparty set for my niece. its so hard at christmas everyone stands still and you cant get past so frustrating.

so im off shopping today with one of my sisters! better luck today i hope.

This was the CCI Event to showcase the creative departments (fashion, hair, beauty, media) mainly for some media students visiting the college from malta. I got to be one of the models hehe. Thats me in the Rainbow Dress. Thankyou to our own FifiBelle (Fiona) for taking the photos.

The loooovely amber (aka go-gorgeous amber)used her talents to do the hair & makeup of all our models. She is a little star. i didnt catch much of the event as I was one of the models as far as I was aware it was a great night!

We even managed to stink out the dressing room by ordering about 20 orders of fish/pizza/chips. Such Diva's.

I have the lovely lovely miranda who likes all things retro & kitsch (a bit like me) she was easy to buy for. We do our present swap on tuesday we are all going for lunch at a local chinese.
