accessory overkill.
as miss coco chanel said... "take one thing off before you leave the house". does that oversized bow really look good with chunky earings? does that cocktail ring take the attention of your dainty heart shaped necklace? Ladies accessorys is like makeup. less is more anything else is like a walking talking jewellery box or you end up looking like a magnet. When wearing a 'WOW' piece anything else should be smaller in size as not to detract attention from it. If this seems to conformist mix different textured bracelets on one arm, you can even buy 'bulk' necklaces now that come prelayered and look amazing with corset/sweetheart cuts or seamless vest/or tshirts. Its always fun to mix textures up, experimenting with shapes and colour. but golden rule. just remove that one little thing before you walk out the door your outfit will appear more put together and effortless... after all who wants to look like they have tried?

Its really interesting, as while I agree, theres also the view you actually want to look like you've made an effort, but there is this point which putting too much make up on, or too many accessories can be too much, which of corse varies way way hugely between people. I think it has to do with the look your going for. Cute, Kitsh, Edgy, all demand different amounts of thought/imagination which can indeed involve mix smokey eyes with red lipstick, or 3 necklaces.
