Happy Valentines my sweethearts. I've abandoned hernameiscupcake again for a few

long months but I'm back with lots of exciting photoshoots and ideas! Our beautiful model maddie nearly made a young gentleman fall of the pavement in his haste to have another look at her.

50's glamour is always a winner.

These pictures of the darling maddie are being used for our university magazine based on the idea of 'elle'
we renamed ours as 'LUXE' a swirly mixture of girly and neon fashion. I'll post all of the photoshoots I have done so far but this one seemed most appropriate since its nearly the 14th.

Queen Of Heart Tarts
Cooking Time

Makes 24
Ingredients


300g (2 cups) plain flour

100g (1 cup) hazelnut meal

80g (1/2 cup) icing sugar mixture

175g butter, chilled, cubed

80ml (1/3 cup) iced water

240g (2 punnets) raspberries

1 egg white, lightly whisked

2 tsp caster sugar


How To Make Your Heart Tarts


Preheat oven to 180°C. Place flour, hazelnut meal, icing sugar mixture and butter in the bowl of a food processor and process until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add iced water and process briefly until mixture just comes together. Add more water if required.
Turn pastry onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly until smooth. Shape into a disc and place in the fridge for 30 minutes to rest.
Divide pastry into 4 equal portions. Use a lightly floured rolling pin to roll 1 portion until about 3mm thick. Use a 7cm-diameter pastry cutter to cut 12 discs from the pastry. Line 12 non-stick patty pans with the discs. Repeat with second pastry portion to line 12 more patty pans. Divide raspberries evenly among pastry cases.



Roll third pastry portion until about 3mm thick. Use a 6.5cm-diameter pastry cutter to cut 12 discs. Use a 2.5cm heart-shaped pastry cutter to cut a hole in the centre of each disc. Repeat with remaining pastry portion to make 12 more discs. Place a disc on each pie and press edges to seal. Brush tops with a little whisked egg white. Place sugar in a fine sieve and sprinkle over tarts.


Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and set aside to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

stuck in the 50s fairytale.

as you may know I would quite happily run around in 50's prom dresses and carry a parasol under my

arm. while its wintertime I am quite happy to snuggle up with a fur coat (faux of course darlings) lacey

gloves and some sort of hat/head apparel. I jumped a bus with my beautiful boy to the capital and had

a dreamy lust around the vintage shops playing dressup and a little daunder in the fairground. is there anything better than the scent of hot waffles toasting and candyfloss being spun?

50s summer trend. my grandmother did it before.

Isn't she pretty? no she's not some unknown 50s hopeful movie star shes actually my gran.
Going through some of the new collections from topshop I couldn't help think of this photo is so simaliar to some of the clothes I have seen her wear in my dads photo album as a young girl.
The 1950s style is easy to copy and both versatile it suits all shapes, And can be dressed up or down to be suited with casual day shopping or at an after catwalk party. Its a quirky but sexy trend that never seems to go out of style and is defiantly one of my favourite I adore playsuits,rollers in my hair and bright red marilyn lips. Below is another photo of her arm and arm with my grandad how cute, Judging from the backround of the photo the are walking along the Blackpool promanade.

 Dont these gorgeous dresses below from http://www.modcloth.com/ (please check there site for prices,availability & info) resemble her cute style? team up with a pair of brogues (I'm sure thats what she is wearing) and a petticoat, red lipstick and your good to go. Its like dressing up for grownup girls.
